Job William Bull was born in Quarndon in 1893. In 1901 he was living with his grandparents Fredrick and Martha Bull at The Castle, Mackworth. By 1911 he was still living there and his occupation was given as moulder.
In 1916 he married Emma Bloor at St Werburgh’s Church, Derby. At some point it is believed that they moved to Nottingham.
He joined the 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment as Private 52098 Bull. He was killed in action on the 25th May 1918. His name is recorded on the Soissons Memorial. Additional information is recorded as “Husband of Emma Bull, of Wharf Cottage, Bobbel's Mill, Nottingham.”
The Soissons Memorial commemorates almost 4,000 officers and men of the United Kingdom forces who died during the Battles of the Aisne and the Marne in 1918 and who have no known grave.
